| Thoughtumns - Poem by Gerard Geiger |

Thoughtumns A herd of maple leaves hunker in the corner as a riot of oak and willow cousins slice their way by. All unknowingly seeking sanctuary, a replacement for lost security, so recently ripped from their mothers wombs. Untrained in this business of life competing with their fellows, piling together in the choicest spots. Their rushed efforts aiding to congeal the sap of their veins, weathering the colors of their new found freedom of adolescence. Wondering how it all came to be, what is expected of them, and how could they possibly ever become their own tree? Copyright © October 2004 Gerard A Geiger |
